Toothless in Round Rock-Long Post!

Let me start by saying we have all been having a blast being a family of 5 and I think gotten a little bit of a routine finally going. Although, little Easton is still up every 2 hours and 45 minutes at night. I am trying to get him to drop a feeding, but he is just not wanting too yet. It breaks my heart to just let him cry it out, so needless to say I think he is a little spoiled. What can you say when you have 2 big sisters catering to you all the time???

Going back to the title of my post, Elaina, who turned 5 on September 7 has now lost a total of 3 teeth and has 3 more just hanging by a thread! She went for her 2nd routine dentist appointment and cleaning on Friday the 14th and they said she is even getting her molars in, which is really early! I am just afraid that other things might start early too, mama is not too excited about this!!! She is so brave when it comes to pulling her teeth, I have to stop trying before she tells me to because I am afraid I am going to hurt her! So different than the way I was, I hated losing teeth! She now has a "window" in the top of her mouth and it is just priceless!
And she was given a butterfly garden from her uncle Ronny. You start off by ordering 5 caterpillars and let them form into cocoons. You then move them into their habitat and a few days later that emerge as painted lady butterflies. Cute! But it was hard for me to handle the caterpillars, I am NOT a bug fan!!!

Speaking of tests, Easton gave us a little bit if a scare when his routing newborn screening was performed at his 2 week checkup. This is a state mandated test that checks for over 80 diseases and it is performed at birth and again at 2 weeks of age. Well, the newborn one came back totally fine, but we got a letter in the mail stating that one of the tests might have come back abnormal and we needed to have a follow up. Ok, STOP RIGHT THERE. I panicked. I have never had anything go wrong health wise with any of my children and this just plain scared me. It was after the pediatrician had closed so I had to wait until the next day to make an appointment. They fit him in that very day, which I am so thankful for. The test that was abnormal was congenital adrenal hyperplasia. My pedi, which I am now even more in love with than previously was, got the results and assured me that the test was only out of range by one point! We had the lab re-check some other things and he called me on a Friday evening after closing to tell me everything was fine pending some of the other lab that had to be sent off. I got a letter on that Tuesday the 11th stating that everything WAS ok. Thank goodness!!!!! Now that I was able to stop worrying it occurred to me how impersonal that letter that I had originally gotten was. I do not believe that you send a letter to parents to tell them that their child might have some possible fatal disease with no explanation. They should have a doctor call you with details of what the disease is and where your child scored on the parameters. I am planning on writing a letter to the state letting them know how it made me feel and how scared I was.

To close on a good note, Ryan and I bought Elaina and Rylie Sesame Street Live tickets yesterday for Feb. 19 and we are on the floor on the third row of the Frank Erwin Center!!! That day we plan to leave Easton for daddy time and us girls go with our friends with her two girls and have a pampering day!

PAID OFF!!!

January 1, 2011, what a great way to start the new year, we FINALLY paid off our GMC Yukon XL that we bought new back in 2004. It feels so good to own this thing, as this thing owned us for so many years. I am so glad we have it though, since we have 3 kiddos in some form of child seat. It fits everyone and everything great! No new vehicle for me for a long time, some nice family vacations are in order!!

Ringing in the New Year 2011!!

Ok, I know I am a tad late on this post, but better late than never, right!? New Years Eve 2010 was a blast. We stayed at home this year since we had a new little bundle of joy added this year. We did have our wonderful friends Heather and Jim over with their little girl Ashley and that was so much fun. I used to baby sit Ashley and we have really missed her over here! Especially my girls, they asked all day what time Ashley was going to arrive and finally when 5 o'clock rolled around they were beyond excited to have their friend over. Those girls played non stop until past 10 o'clock only to take a break to nibble on some burgers and salsa and a bite of cake! After they went home, we put the girls to bed and got Easton settled down for the next couple of hours as well. Ryan and I rang in the new year together just sitting on the couch watching tv, it was wonderful.

2010 was a great year for us and we look forward to see what 2011 will bring!!!
